TypeScript consulting for maintainable applications

I work with teams whose TypeScript application has grown beyond its original structure. The goal is to make changes easier to reason about: clear module boundaries, useful domain types and contracts that help engineers understand what a component can rely on.

Make types express the application model

TypeScript is most useful when its types reflect meaningful states and boundaries. I help teams replace vague shapes and scattered conventions with models that explain which data is valid, which transitions are allowed and what a module expects from its callers.

  • Domain and API type design
  • Typed boundaries between frontend, backend and shared packages
  • Runtime validation where static types cannot verify external data
  • Reducing unsafe casts and duplicated representations

Improve structure without stopping product work

A migration or architecture change can proceed in slices around active delivery. I identify a useful boundary, update its tests and tooling, and leave the surrounding application working while the next area is addressed. A complete rewrite is rarely a prerequisite.

  • Module boundaries and dependency direction
  • Refactoring coupled React or Node.js application code
  • Build, compiler and test configuration
  • Incremental JavaScript-to-TypeScript modernization where the codebase supports it

Architecture for the application, not only its backend

This service focuses on how an application is modelled and changed. If the central challenge is Node.js runtime behaviour, asynchronous processing or production debugging, see Node.js backend engineering. Typed interfaces can also make a new production AI integration easier to evolve safely.

Relevant professional experience

TypeScript and JavaScript have been central to my professional work across SaaS products, large design software, insurance integrations, travel booking systems and startup applications. The work has included frontend performance, backend services and application evolution.

Questions buyers usually ask

Does a TypeScript migration need to happen all at once?

No. When a migration is appropriate, it can be planned around stable modules and active product work. The first step is checking whether the existing build and boundaries support gradual adoption.

Can you improve a codebase without rewriting it?

Yes. I look for a bounded change that improves types or module structure while retaining useful existing behaviour.
