API integration consulting for complex systems

I help teams connect their software to external providers and internal systems without assuming that every request succeeds or every event arrives once and in order. Integration work includes the path for identifying, containing and reconciling discrepancies.

Design for the provider’s actual behaviour

A successful example request is only one part of an integration. Providers paginate differently, enforce rate limits, change schemas, delay events and sometimes recover from outages by sending data again. I build around the guarantees and limitations the provider actually documents and demonstrates.

  • REST API and webhook implementation
  • Authentication, credential handling and pagination
  • Rate limits, schema normalization and provider changes
  • Ingestion and enrichment across multiple data sources

Keep cross-system data consistent

When two systems describe the same record differently, the application needs explicit rules for ownership and reconciliation. I help establish how data is mapped, how duplicate or out-of-order events are recognized, and how an operator can review unresolved exceptions. Those behaviours can live in a Node.js backend and use AWS event-driven infrastructure when the system calls for durable asynchronous processing.

  • Retries, idempotency and duplicate detection
  • Data synchronization and reconciliation paths
  • Provider outages, replay and exception visibility
  • Integrations that use background processing where needed

Experience across provider-heavy products

My professional work includes insurance API integrations at Briza, travel-provider integrations at N-iX and company research and enrichment pipelines at HoneySales. In each case the application had to account for provider-specific data and behaviour, not just make the connection.

Questions buyers usually ask

How do you handle unreliable third-party APIs?

The integration should distinguish transient failures from invalid requests, respect provider limits, make retries safe and surface work that needs reconciliation or human review.

Can you integrate internal systems as well as public APIs?

Yes. The same questions about ownership, data shape, delivery guarantees and recovery apply across internal service boundaries.
